Pounding The Streets of Potters Bar

You may remember that we introduced you to Lacey recently and kept you updated on her progress through training. She has completed a successful shadowing period and is now a fully-fledged care practitioner here at Wilnash. We are absolutely delighted with her progress. She has displayed such maturity and we think she is a natural carer. She is already building excellent relationships with her clients and I’m sure that those of you who have met her will vouch for her lovely nature and ever present smile. We are always pleased to see her in the office – she can certainly take a joke at her own expense!

Lacey is currently learning to drive and is enjoying that. But in the meantime she is getting to know the footpaths of Potters Bar extremely well. She is doing a lot of walking! But our carers are a great bunch and to be fair, she is getting a lot of lifts. And we certainly don’t let her walk around on her own after dark (good old mum eh Lacey?).

So, we had a chat with Lacey to find out how she thinks things are going so far…

Are you enjoying working as a care practitioner for Wilnash Care?
“ I’m loving it. The clients are so lovely and it’s such a privilege to hear all their fantastic stories. Some of them have had such an amazing life.

What do you enjoy most about care?
“I get such a lovely feeling when I know that I have helped someone and made a genuine difference to their life”.

Is there anything that you don’t like about care?
“Absolutely nothing!”

Do you think that you will work in care for the foreseeable future?
“Yes. I am thoroughly enjoying it and would like to build a career in care. I know that Wilnash will support me with this and encourage me to undertake lots of training”.

We at Wilnash know that Lacey has a very bright future. We are extremely proud of her.
