Alzheimers Society

Alzheimer’s Society have a number of resources available, including a telephone helpline, an online community and support groups.


Age UK

Age UK combined Age Concern and Help the Aged to form the UK’s largest charity dedicated to those later in life. Age UK’s website contains a wealth of information from health & wellbeing to money & legal advice.


Dementia UK

Dementia UK provide both advice and support for anyone affected by Dementia. They have a dedicated information and support helpline plus their “Admiral Nurse” service which can help individuals and families following a Dementia diagnosis.

Hertsmere Council

Hertsmere Council provide help and advice for a number of different concerns.


Herts Safeguarding Adults Board

The Hertfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board is a partnership working with organisations to ensure adults who are at risk are cared for somewhere that is a safe environment, and they can live free from abuse and harassment.


St John AMBULANCE

St John Ambulance are the UK’s leading first aid charity. They run many services including first aid training, event support, community first response and supporting the the NHS emergency services.


NHS

The NHS website provides useful information on illnesses, symptoms, medication, plus you can find local healthcare with GP surgery’s, walk in clinics and hospitals.


HCPA

The Hertfordshire Care Providers Association provide a range of services to Herts County to ensure that the level of care provided is of the highest level.


Macmillan

Macmillan is one of the largest charities dedicated to helping those affected by cancer. They can provide online support as well as local help.


Stroke Association

The Stroke Association assist individuals if they have been affected by a stroke. They offer help and advice and support services to help people rebuild their lives following a stroke.


BHF

The British Heart Foundation fund research into life saving treatments for heart related illnesses.


Dial-a-Ride

Dial-A-Ride is a service available to those over 75 who are unable drive or use public transport.
