Elf Blog

25/11:   I don’t know you, you don’t know me.

I could be under the Christmas tree.

On top of the table or under the chair.

I’m the naughty elf, I could be anywhere.

26/11:   Hiding the elf is so much fun.

Watching you searching is second to none.

              Imaginative places must be found.

In the air or on the ground.

Finding the elf is your goal for the day.

It’s elf finding season ‘hip hip hooray.’

We’ll start off easy then work until hard,

When hiding the elf no holes will be barred.

Upon a surface I do sit,

              Dragging this down the stairs..

            ..man you must be fit!

26/11: So I see our Christmas elf has a new mate.

I’m sure he was purchased when shopping out late.

I’m looking forward to searching and hunting.

Is he under the tree, or tied up in bunting??

I heard last year he was in the toilet all drunk

He most certainly is naughty, the short little punk.

I will come in tomorrow, looking high, looking low.

If we keep him another year, do you think he will grow??

Thanks for buying this naughty little elf.

Smiling all sweetly upon the shelf.

Or did they find each other on the dating site tinder?

I can’t wait to find him hidden from Lynda.

26/11:  The rhyming you sent, well what can I say?

              Three rhyming verses get away.

The thought that went into them took my breath away.

I had to sit down as standing I started to sway.

28/11:   Where oh where can the little chap be.

Keep the door shut or he may flee.

He’s so naughty and does what he’s told.

Although today he’s feeling a little bit cold.

You have left him sitting there for half a day.

“You don’t like me anymore.” I can hear him say.

So get up and walk around.

Our little elf is yet to be found.

Don’t you feel like you want to munch?

Go into the kitchen and make your lunch.

Too many clues, I’m such a tease.

“Hurry up or I’m going to freeze!”

28/11          Elfin hell, what can I say.

The little ray of sunshine did lock me away.

In the freezing cold and as dark as can be.

The only ray of light came when they made a tea.

Now is the chance for the other one to hide me,

Let’s hope it’s a good place, nice and tidy.

28/11:   Christmas time is here once more.

What does the naughty elf have in store?

Hiding is fun now the seeking has begun.

First to seek was the ray of sun,

she found me sitting on my bum.

Little did I know what she had in store,

she chucked me in the fridge and closed the door!

I was stuck in the fridge and began to pray.

Then the other one came and saved the day.

She grabbed me out and now I’m, free,

But oh my goodness, I needed a wee.

Now it’s her turn and the elf she will hide.

I’m so happy I’m not outside.

The place she has put me I will not lie,

is a place that is strange for an elf to reside.

02/12:   I’m so sorry I forgot to write a clue.

I got tied up with many things to do.

All this time our little elf

was waiting on a poem from myself.

This poem could have set him free,

and made him social for all to see.

Think close by, maybe close to touch.

I love this elf very much.

I’ll do three verses as I’ve let him down.

Stuck there all day makes me frown.

I’ll treat him once out and buy him a cape.

Once he is free from the sellotape.

03/12:    Today’s the day, I must say the elf he did impress.

Hanging around upside down under my desk.

Stuck to the wood was not so good, he said with a sigh.

Hanging around both day and night, I so felt like I wanted to cry.

Along she came once again to save me from my plight

“Hide me somewhere nice” I say being very polite.

Where would you put me I ask myself, heart pounding fast and loud?

Somewhere that is hidden and not standing out in a crowd.

Sometimes when I’m thinking about the music it can be loud.

04/12:    I’m sorry it took so long to reply.

I had a stressful day, oh my!

I will get on the case to find our friend.

I’ll look high and low, round every bend.

05/12:    Now it’s my turn to do the hiding,

And lynda’s turn to do the finding.

He is somewhere squashed a little flat.

               I didn’t leave him oxygen..oh drat!

I will send you another clue

If you really need me to.

But for now go and take a peak.

He is very low, so go seek.

You are looking high and you was very hot.

But you walked away and now you’re not.

I give you clues to plant the seed.

Think where you would go to have a read.

05/12:  I’ve been here before, I will not lie.

But maybe not up so very  high.

With bits under my arms and between my legs.

It’s not very comfortable it must be said.

I come out here for this special time of year.

Only to live my life in fear.

Thrown in the fridge, so cold and dark,

By the ray of sunshine thinking it was a lark.

Swinging from the ceiling on another day

Get me down, I could only pray.

Slung in a box squashed by books,

I do hope the ray of sunshine hasn’t spoilt my looks.

Another day and it’s the other ones turn,

All I can say is I wish I was fern.
