                                                   "In-House Induction Training and Apprenticeship Opportunities".

Care Work | Induction Training

Our  care staff Induction training is second to none. Organized by our trainer (a qualified nurse) all new home carers and live-in carers undertake an initial 4 day In-house induction training course conducted at: Wilnash Care Limited. The induction training uses a number of teaching methods including: presentations, group discussions, E-Learning DVD's, practical demonstrations. At the end of each module we test competence and understanding by a combination of questions and practical exercises.

Induction Training Overview:

Day 1: Induction orientation.
            Safe Administration of Medication. (This training is a whole days training course and is extremely robust! Safe Administration of Medication                     training consists of: group discussions, using visual aids, E-Learning DVD, medication scenarios and testing knowledge and understanding.                 Following your training, you will then be supervised by the trainer in administering medication to service users. Once you feel confident and             we feel that you are competent, you will then be signed off).

Day 2: Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children.

Day 3: Health and Safety at Work including: Food preparation, Infection prevention and control, COSHH and Moving and Handing. (In regards to                   Moving and Handling Training again this is robust training offering both practical and theory work). 

Day 4: Basic Emergency First Aid Training.

At the end of your 4 day In-house training, each home carers or live-in carers is then assigned a Senior Carer (a mentor) who takes responsibility for taking you, as the new carers, into the field and shadowing you to develop your practical care skills. Only when you and your Senior Carer (mentor) are confident in your abilities to carry a care visit alone, will you be assigned service user's without supervision.

                                                                      "Supervision and Spot Checks"

During your first 12 weeks with us, you will receive a number of working supervisions (on location) and random checks (on location) to support to in your development. You will also receive additional training in: Dementia Awareness, Communication and Confidentiality. This training normally takes place in weeks 5-7 of your start date. 

During your first 12 weeks with us, you will also undertake: The Care Certificate. (The Care Certificate was introduced on: 1st April 2015 and as from: 1st September 2015 it became a mandatory requirement for all employers to deliver this to all new care staff). The Care Certificate replaces the 12 week Common Induction Standards in Social Care. The Care Certificate is a set of 

                                                       "Apprenticeship Health and Social Care Qualifications".

Following completion of your: mandatory 4 days training and successful completion of your 3 month probation period, will we then provide you with the opportunity to enroll for a Free Government Funded Apprenticeship: (QCF) Diploma in Health and Social Care. Our Care Agency work in-conjunction with: Connect2Care/HIT Training and Clarity Training and the Apprenticeship Health and Social Care Qualifications are offered at Levels: 2, Level 3 and Level 5.
